Who are we?

The Chinese Fraternity Association of Queensland (CFAQ) is a non-profit organisation established in 1979. The founding members were volunteers, with a vision to promote and celebrate Chinese culture in Brisbane. The organisation was passionate about reaching all those who were interested in Chinese culture, but they also made a special effort to reach the younger generation through Chinese language classes. In 1982, CFAQ hired a venue in China Town, located in the heart of Fortitude Valley, to establish its office and conduct activities.

Over the years, the organisation has observed gradual changes in societal structure and have seen the need to cater to the ageing population of Brisbane. In recent times, CFAQ has been committed to arranging Elderly Day Care activities and Home Care services to assist local Chinese elders, providing them with both physical and emotional support. Where applicable, the organisation has also been able to assist those who are eligible for government subsidies to apply for welfare, in order to reduce their financial burden.
